Our Story
Wasatch Transitions
This company was created based on my own experience with the very services we offer.
It all started with my own experience with my parents and in-laws. My father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. This diagnosis was absolutely devastating for not only my father but our whole family. We went through the usual emotions of shock, denial, grief, and eventually acceptance along with my father. It was a long, slow process and a sad one as well. It was really hard to watch my hero slowly succumb to this tragic disease. Watching what my mother had to go through in order to care for him and then eventually put him into a facility that could better care for his needs was really hard. So many emotions!
These experiences ranged from downsizing into a retirement home, an assisted living, and then eventually into a memory care unit. I also had my mother-in-law live with us for the last 9 months of her life. This brought to light how inadequate my house was to accommodate someone in a wheelchair. These experiences come with so many emotions ranging from guilt, sadness, helplessness, and worry that you are doing the best thing for them. Along with my own emotions, my parents and in-laws were dealing with feelings of their own. Each one had a different situation to handle and each had their own reactions.
This is why I decided to start this company. Having been through these challenges with people I care deeply about, helped me to come to the realization that I have the skills necessary to assist others with their transitional needs. I have 30 years of design experience and have renovated over 100 homes through my own business. This, along with the specialized training of the CAPS (Certified Aging in Place) certification, makes me and my team, the perfect choice to help you through your transitions.
I hope you allow me the opportunity to assist you!
